Many people look to the business world rather than becoming an employee of a company. The financial success that can be obtained from building your own business encourages people to choose to start their own business. There are many success stories of entrepreneurs who struggled from scratch and had to go through a long and winding road before finally achieving success. One of them is a middle-aged man named H. Sarkadi, born into a simple family in a village in Brebes sub-district, little Sarkadi is used to working hard.

Armed with a strong determination to change his fate, in 1986, young Sarkadi left for the capital, starting life in the capital by working as an employee in a restaurant, who would have thought that was also where Sarkadi met his future life companion. After working for two years, young Sarkadi decided to quit his job and return home to marry the woman of his dreams. After getting married, Sarkadi and his new family decided to migrate back to the capital, armed with modest capital they both opened a street food stall in the Teluk Gong area. Unfortunately, the dream of building a better life in Jakarta did not live up to expectations, their business failed and did not grow. So for the second time, Sarkadi returned home to Brebes. Using his savings and knowledge of how to make chicken noodles, Sarkadi returned to Brebes. Using their savings and the knowledge of how to make chicken noodles obtained from his wife’s brother, they started a chicken noodle-making business while also selling cooked chicken noodles, travelling around the village using a cart. A year after opening his business, Sarkadi was informed by a neighbour who sells chicken noodles at Kroya market that chicken noodles were still scarce in the Kroya area, so Sarkadi brought his small family back to make a new living.

Starting from 2 – 5 kg/day of chicken noodle production, his chicken noodle business slowly grew. Understandably, in that year chicken noodles were still a strange food for most people, let alone people around Kroya, which is only a sub-district town. But with an unyielding spirit, the business he started slowly began to show results. Using the business name GANDASARI Chicken Noodle Mill, the chicken noodle products he produces are starting to be accepted by the public. In the beginning of his business, in addition to making chicken noodles, H. Sarkadi also provided a cart along with tools and equipment to sell chicken noodles and it was loaned for free. People who are interested in trading chicken noodles are only required to buy chicken noodles at his place. Currently, from the results of his business, this father of four has been able to prosper his family and part of the surrounding community. Many successful chicken noodle traders started by borrowing carts and equipment from him. In addition, production employees are also taken from neighbours in the neighbourhood. Thanks to his chicken noodle business, Mr H. Sarkadi has also been able to build a comfortable business place, send his children to the desired level of education and take part of his family on Umrah to the Holy Land. The number of customers is currently hundreds of people spread around the city of Kroya, the production capacity is hundreds of kg per day.
